Pakistan will face arch rival India in the final of Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, as it downed Japan by five goals to two on Wednesday, Aaj News reported. According to the channel, the match was evenly poised as both the teams scores two goals each in the first half of the match. However, Pakistan outclassed Japan in the second half of the match as it scored three more goals to beat Japan and set up a final with India.

Though Malaysia beat Indian in another match by 5-3, but this margin was not enough to throw out Pakistan from the final. Pakistan qualified for the final on better goal average against Malaysia, as both the teams had 10 points on the table. Pakistan played five matches in Asian hockey champions trophy, won three matches, draw one and lost one. Pakistan beat Oman 8-3 in their first match and China 5-2 in the second. They were held to a 3-3 draw by Malaysia.
